The Taft School
Rachael’s interest in American government and all things political began at an early age when she started canvassing and stuffing envelopes for various campaigns. She took the very first AP US Government and Politics exam in 1988 and has taught AP US Government since 1996. She has been an AP reader since 2005 and is also a member of the American Political Science Association. She began her teaching career in 1994 at Blair Academy where she taught AP US Government and Politics. She has been teaching at the Taft School since 2000 where she teaches AP US Government and Politics and US History. Rachael attended Georgetown University and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor’s degree in American Government. She received her Master’s in Liberal Arts from Harvard University in 2004. Her husband teaches AP US History and AP Comparative Government at the Taft school and she has two teenaged sons and two Labrador retrievers.
