SJA Art department faculty member Kreg Owens has had several pieces accepted into juried shows and competitions recently. Owens teaches several pottery classes at St. Johnsbury Academy.
His work was accepted into an international juried competition entitled "Beakers, Cups and Mugs: The Art of Drinking." The exhibition will be held at the Blue Dome Gallery in Silver City, NM from October through November 2016.
Two of his large porcelain burial urns pen with his ink drawings fired into the surface, were accepted into a national juried show entitled Stories On Clay: A Focus on Narrative. This exhibition will be held at the Morean Center for Clay, in St. Petersburg, Florida, from October 8th, through November 30th.
Three of his sculptural espresso cups were selected in another national juried competition entitled, "The Almighty Cup." This exhibition is being held at the Gandee Gallery in Fabius, New York from October 8th - November 20th.
Finally, his beaker: "With Notions of Grandure" was accepted into "The Clay Cup: Vessel, Icon, Canvas," which will be held from October 24 – November 17, 2016 in the George Caleb Bingham Gallery in the Department of Art, University of Missouri.
