Grace Stuart Orcutt Library
While the library is closed, there are ways that the library can remotely provide students and faculty with expert help and services. Our wide range of full-text scholarly databases is accessible remotely 24/7 via the library website (http://stjacademyguides.org/libraryresources) and the Database Password List. The Database Password List is a GoogleDoc accessible via STJLabs.
Our ever-popular Book-a-Research Appointment service will remain available. The only change will be that consultations would happen remotely. Students will continue to request appointments via the Book a Research Appointment form on the library website (top left corner). Kevin Moore and I will continue to respond to students via email to set up a consultation, which can be done remotely via email or video chat. Students will still be able to obtain the best possible resources for their topics through a combination of our full-text online scholarly databases and remote research support.
Remote reference services are common practice at university libraries worldwide.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services will also remain available for articles – yet for student convenience, we will highlight our Full Text options first.
Students should still request articles that we do not own via the Interlibrary Loan Form on the library website (top left corner) and we hope they will be filled in the same timely manner that they are accustomed to.
The Grace Stuart Orcutt Library fosters lifelong curiosity, creativity, and inquiry. We work to ensure that our collection of electronic resources, books, and videos actively engages our students in their academic pursuits and their personal interests. Our library team also supports the curriculum through group and individual research assistance.
The St. Johnsbury Academy Archives houses documents that date back to the founding of our school. Holdings include institutional records, artifacts, ephemera, personal papers, and student publications.
The library is home to many special events including fireside author talks, guest speakers, book discussions, and art exhibits.
