Welcome to Grace Stuart Orcutt Library
in the Mayo Center at St. Johnsbury Academy

When most visitors step into the Library for the first time, they comment on the clean lines and the bright, open space—the well-lit and even cheery atmosphere. Many say, "It's more like a college library." They're correct in that the Academy's Library is a hive of activity throughout the day, and stays open into the night for use by all students, like a university library. Often, special events are planned—readings, art showings, demonstrations—in the Fireside area. Yes, it's a multi-use facility; but it remains a place of learning, study, and research, first and foremost. Private study rooms help students focus on their work; and dozens of computer stations allow access to the Internet for work-in-progress research. The Library staff, and in the evening faculty, are always available for assistance. We take great pride in our world-class Library—a place of inquiry where academic excellence takes shape.
