The Courage and Humility to Dance

On Monday, Alissa An '20 performed a beautiful solo dance in Fuller Hall as a way to promote participation in our Dance Club. The dance was joyful, fluid, and graceful. As I watched, I was captivated by the freedom Alissa displayed in her movements—a freedom I have witnessed many times before when watching performances. I also marveled at the courage it must have taken to dance so beautifully all by herself in front of over 800 people.

The Math Club competed in another round of their weekly national Math Madness competition. The SJA team is currently ranked 29th in the U.S. in the top-twenty player category.

Mrs. Woods' Spanish 4 classes presented on their topics (in Spanish).

Students in Mr. Callanan's French IV class traveled to Boston last week. They visited the French Cultural Center and the Museum of Fine Arts to study the French works of art and dined at Le Petit Robert Bistro. The students have been learning how to speak about art in French, and the trip offered them a chance to see many of the works they have been learning about.

Students participated in another successful Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday.

Culinary students prepared food for the upcoming community Thanksgiving meal served at the United Community Church.

SJA senior Sadie Stetson signed her Letter of Intent to play basketball for American University. Joining Sadie for the signing were her parents Tina '82 and Barclay Stetson '79.

And SJA senior Tyler Wells signed his Letter of Intent to play baseball for the University of New Haven beginning in the fall of 2019. Joining Tyler for the signing were his parents Laura and Tim Wells.
