Four Jobs, Three Promises, and One Challenge

Recently, the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) published the results of a survey that investigated the jobs that parents "hire" schools to do when they choose to pay tuition. In short, the survey showed that parents want schools to help them do four things:

 

1.     Help them help their children overcome obstacles;

2.     Help them help fulfill their children's potential in a values-aligned community;

3.     Help them develop well-rounded people who will impact the world; and

4.     Help them realize their plans for their talented children.

Students Honored for Advanced Placement Achievement

 

A total of 254 Academy students took 489 Advanced Placement exams in May 2018. The school's passing rate, determined was 85.6%, well above both the state average of 69% and the national average of 61%.

Students attended our Club and Activities Fair on Monday. Faculty member Tyler Hartshorn is the advisor of the chess club, and jumped right into a game during the fair.

Field Semester students started their off-campus experience with a hike up Mt. Jefferson in New Hampshire. More information on the program can be found here

Rosie Prevost and her photography students turned the entry into Fuller Hall into a very large pinhole camera. The light entered the room through one of the windows in the door and the image was projected, backwards and upside down, on the opposite wall. More photos of the process and results are here.
