Lives of Commitment

One of my favorite columnists is David Brooks, whose books The Social Animal and The Road to Character are among my favorite non-fiction reads over the past few years. I like his writing because he speaks about the inner life and the importance of living according to enduring values and noble truths.  Last spring, he spoke to the graduates of the University of Pennsylvania, and while his message is more geared toward those leaving college for the workforce, I felt that the values and truths he highlighted were appropriate for our upperclassmen, as well.
