The Rivalry: Our River, Their Helmets

A few years ago, I started researching rivalries. The St. J.-LI rivalry had been voted the fourth best in the country, and I had wanted to know more about where the word “rivalry” came from. It turns out that it comes from the same root as “river” and actually refers to a dispute over water rights. At the time, I did some research about the Passumpsic and determined by a number of criteria that the Passumpsic was our river. LI could not lay any serious claim to it.

The boys' soccer team came out to support the girls' soccer team.

The force was with us on theme day.

And the senior class was feeling funky.

Students stayed after school to work on skits and hallways.

The band started off Pep Chapel.

The junior class' skit featured Mr. Lovett and Mr. Lovett in an epic father-son sword fight.

The sophomore class followed the green brick road around the stage during their skit.

Everyone got psyched with the help of the cheerleaders!
