The University of Maine - Pulp and Paper Foundation

The University of Maine Pulp & Paper Foundation was incorporated in 1952 by 12 UMaine graduates financially supporting and preparing well-educated engineering students for careers in the pulp and paper and allied industries. Our foundation is supported by annual gifts from more than 70 companies in 50 states, as well as individual gifts from more than 250 alumni and friends. The Pulp & Paper Foundation currently supports up to 90 engineering and forestry students with merit based scholarships.

Vermont JCI Senate

Each year, the Vermont JCI Senate Foundation grants 2, $500.00 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools. The number of grants awarded annually is at the discretion of the Foundation and must be used for educational expenses in the first year of full-time study. Checks awarded will be made out in the name of the recipient and the educational institution of the recipient?s choice. Applications must come from high school students who are U.S. Citizens graduating from U.S. accredited schools. This may include state approved home school and state approved GED programs, cyber schools, and overseas U.S. approved schools.

Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund

The establishment of the Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund occurred in October, 2001. The scholarship fund is named in honor of Janice Marie Scott to recognize her involvement with various youth programs and community service activities within the Greater Metropolitan Area of Washington, DC. Janice was on of the 125 individuals that perished in the Pentagon on September 11, 2001 when terrorists hijacked and crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the building of the Pentagon.

The American Legion – Department of Vermont

Ray Greenwood Scholarship up to $1,500; Charles Barber Scholarship up to $1,000; and Ten $500.

The American Legion believes that more students will continue their education if they are given a helping hand. Through the splendid cooperation and support of the entire American Legion Department of Vermont Membership, this scholarship award has been made possible. Seniors attending a Vermont Secondary School, or a similar school in an adjoining state, whose parents are legal residents of the State of Vermont OR seniors residing in an adjacent state whose normal high school attendance area is a Vermont Secondary School. Applicant must be a US Resident.

The American Legion – High School Oratorical Scholarship Program

1st Place: $18,000; 2nd Place: $16,000; and 3rd Place: $14,000; including $1,500 for each State winner.

The purpose of The American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program “A Constitutional Speech Contest” is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States among high school students. Other objectives of the contest include the development of leadership qualities, the ability to think and speak clearly and intelligently, and the preparation for acceptance of the duties and responsibilities, rights, and privileges of American citizenship.

Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship

$3,000 to $18,000

The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund offers renewal, four-year scholarships to students with financial need who display academic achievement, a commitment to serving others (in school, their community, or at home), a strong work ethic, and leadership qualities.

Minute Man Scholarship

4 year award - Full Tuition and Fees (capped)

If you are interested in receiving an Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) scholarship and commissioning into the Army Reserve, the Minuteman Scholarship provides you an excellent opportunity. All qualified applicants for ROTC scholarships may apply for consideration for the 4-year Minuteman Scholarship. Each Army Reserve major subordinate command (MSC) can award four Minuteman Scholarships per year. Minuteman Scholarships cover four years of full tuition and fees or $10,000 for room and board at colleges and universities served by an Army ROTC program. The U.S. Army Reserve provides trained, equipped and ready soldiers, leaders, and units to meet America’s requirements at home and abroad.
